Ezequiel Jiménez is a Dominican-American visual artist whose practice explores the tension between organic form and mechanical structure. His work navigates a complex dialogue between curved lines and monochromatic explosions of conflict, defined by a rigorous exploration of space and balance. Utilizing a diverse material vocabulary—including paint, pencil, ink, gesso, and varnish—on substrates ranging from canvas to hard plywood, Jiménez invites visceral and unexpected outcomes.

With a deep academic foundation, Jiménez holds a Post-Master’s Advanced Certificate from William Paterson University, an MFA in Fine Art and a dual BA in Studio Art and Political Science from Herbert H. Lehman College (CUNY), and an AAS in Digital Arts & Graphic Design from Bronx Community College (CUNY). His background in political science often informs the underlying themes of discord and equilibrium within his large-scale compositions.

His career is marked by extensive international recognition, with works showcased in over 40 exhibitions across the United States, Mexico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic. Notable museum, art center, and gallery venues include the Macy Art Gallery at Columbia University, The Paterson Museum, The Attleboro Arts Museum, The Warwick Center for the Arts, and the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center in Manhattan. Internationally, his work has been featured at the Museo Freddie Cabral in Santo Domingo and Galería Universal in Santiago de Cuba.

Beyond the studio, Jiménez is a dedicated voice in the academic art community. He has served as a guest lecturer and visiting artist at institutions including the Oral History Association (OHA), Adelphi University, Kean University, and The City University of New York (Bronx Community College), as well as the Instituto Tecnológico Mexico (La Reforma) in the Dominican Republic.

A celebrated figure for his contributions to the arts, Jiménez has been honored by numerous governmental, civic, and academic institutions. His accolades include The Illustrious Award in the Arts, Proclamations from the New York State Senate and Assembly, and Citations from the Rhode Island Senate and House of Representatives. Internationally, he was named a "Distinguished Son of Santiago" in his native Dominican Republic and is a recipient of the Instituto Tecnológico Mexico “Orgullo Nuestro" distinction and the Lehman College Graduate Scholarship.

Sobre el Artista: Ezequiel Jiménez

Ezequiel Jiménez es un artista visual dominicano-estadounidense cuya práctica explora la tensión entre la forma orgánica y la estructura mecánica. Su obra navega un diálogo complejo entre líneas curvas y explosiones monocromáticas de conflicto, definido por una exploración rigurosa del espacio y el equilibrio. Utilizando un vocabulario material diverso —que incluye pintura, lápiz, tinta, yeso y barniz— sobre soportes que van desde el lienzo hasta la madera contrachapada, Jiménez invita a resultados viscerales e inesperados.

Con una profunda base académica, Jiménez posee un Certificado Avanzado de Post-Maestría de William Paterson University, una Maestría en Bellas Artes (MFA) y una doble licenciatura (BA) en Artes de Estudio y Ciencias Políticas de Herbert H. Lehman College (CUNY), además de un grado asociado (AAS) en Artes Digitales y Diseño Gráfico de Bronx Community College (CUNY). Su formación en ciencias políticas a menudo informa los temas subyacentes de discordia y equilibrio dentro de sus composiciones a gran escala.
